  What I have done is to figure out a way to design a material so that no matter how it is supported or how it is loaded, the material will not break or fail until the load is sufficient to crush the material.

 

 

 

This means that even if the material is used as a bridge or a span, when it is loaded it will not crack in the way a typical bridge or span will...

 

 

...but rather will ultimately fail only as the material is crushed by the load it has to bear.
