Licensing
Licenses for UniStates’ Reflexive Materials Technologies (RMT technologies) are intended to establish long-term co-development and marketing relationships with Licensees. Although it is our basic policy to adhere to our form of License Agreement, there is some ability to customize the license to accommodate a particular Licensee’s needs or to take into account particular marketing or other issues in a Territory.
The technologies that UniStates offers to its Licensees have unmatched value. Licenses are available not only for the patent rights but also for our sophisticated manufacturing and processing technologies and software, as well as access to our rapidly-expanding knowledge base of applications and systems. We provide training for Licensees’ design, engineering, and manufacturing personnel in the use and application of processes for the production of Licensed RMT Precision materials and RMT Informed products and structures, and we encourage Licensees to take advantage of our full complement of technology and technical assistance. Transfer of know-how would include instruction in quality control and testing procedures and support for modification of production facilities to foster efficient commercial application of our technologies.

Co-development
UniStates’ affiliates will field Teams to work with our Licensees to co-develop
- RMT Precision materials,
- RMT Informed products and structures,
- Processes for producing RMT Precision materials and RMT Informed products and structures, and
- RMT Software.
Teams deployed by our Engineering Group will be available to work with UniStates' Licensees to co-develop RMT Precision materials, RMT Informed products and structures, and processes for producing RMT Precision materials and RMT Informed products and structures, using the design, engineering, and manufacturing systems of RMT technologies. These Teams will join with Licensees to re-engineer existing products with RMT technologies and to develop new RMT Precision materials and RMT Informed products and structures; and they will work with Licensees to design and engineer specific manufacturing processes, built around RMTSM manufacturing technologies, for the manufacture of these new and improved products. UniStates Teams also will work with Licensees to plan and re-tool factories, when needed, for the manufacture of RMT Precision materials and RMT Informed products and structures using RMTSM manufacturing technologies.
In sum, UniStates’ Co-development Teams will be available to join with select Licensees to exploit: (a) the performance advantages of the design and engineering techniques of RMT technologies, which emphasize the compressive strengths of less expensive, less technical, and more abundant materials; and (b) the extraordinary precision of the RMTSM manufacturing technologies, which emphasize low-cost, automated processes that are continuous from raw material to finished product.
UniStates’ InTrialsSM Program
The licensing and co-development process begins with UniStates' InTrialsSM program. To work with you to re-engineer your company’s current products, UniStates has developed the InTrialsSM program. Each product progresses through a six-step process in which it is re-engineered using RMT technologies for optimal commercial value. UniStates takes into consideration your company’s current production process, plant, and facility for making the product and your marketing strategy for selling it. The end-goal is an RMT Precision material or RMT Informed product or structure of superior quality and performance that is market ready in less than 12 months.
UniStates’ InTrialsSM program is a joint undertaking with your company to re-engineer selected commercial parts and components with RMT technologies. The intent is to improve the in-service performance and marketability of these products. The first step is to work together to identify and prioritize a list of your company’s current commercial products that we would expect to produce the greatest gains in product performance and profitability through re-engineering with RMT technologies. RMT technologies are especially advantageous for weight-limited applications where a high strength-to-density ratio, high stiffness, improved toughness, and affordability are important. Each selected product undergoes the same rigorous procedure in the InTrialSM program, which follows these six basic steps:
- Modeling & Simulation
Production Analysis & Commercial Evaluation
Prototype production & Testing
Process Engineering and Demonstration
Tooling
Manufacture of Demonstration Products
Each step has a specific Target Milestone that must be met. The final Target Milestone is: An efficient system for the production of the RMT Precision material or RMT Informed product or structure to replace its in-service counterpart as it is currently in-use in specific commercial applications.
